| Sir William Selby Church, 1st Baronet, KCB, M.D., LL.D., D.C.L., D.Sc. was born at Woodside, Hatfield in 1837. He was was a successful physician and president of the Royal College of Physicians between 1899 and 1905. He lived at Woodside and was a J.P. for Hertfordshire, and Chairman of the Hatfield Rural District Council, working in London from his Harley Street Address. He died in 1928 and there is a very extensive obituary in the British Medical Journal of 5th May, 1928 |
