Chris and Helen Reynolds are relieved that the inquest has
now taken place.
They affirm their belief in a National Health Service that
caters for all.
Belinda was a useful working member of society. When her
health first broke down she worked voluntarily for the community and
charities until she was well enough to return to work again, then continued
this work in her free time.
She, and others like her, deserve a caring and supportive
service which can deal with their individual situation in the best possible
way when they become ill. Government, professionals, the voluntary sector and
the public should work to achieve this aim in mental health as well as in
surgical and medical services.
Belinda was let down when she most needed help. It is
important that this should now be an opportunity to improve services for the
benefit of future patients.
