We are having lovely weather here. Parrades generally in shirt sleaves. I think Miss Saville will have to wait until I return as stuff will have to be posted out. Am A1 in health.

In 1909 the Hertfordshire Royal Field Artillery Batteries (Territorial Force) went to Lydd for their annual training camp - See James Humphries Watford, WW1 for a detailed investigation relating to this camp.

Hertfordshire Left Hand Half Battery - Places taken in 4th East Anglian Brigade (RDA) Sports Day at 1909 camp at Lydd:

  • Driving competitions - 2 wins

  • Tug-of-war - winners

  • 100 yard race - 2nd & 3rd place

  • Four abreast elbow and hand tied race - winners

  • 'Catch the whistle' competition - 2nd place

  • Wheelbarrow race - 2nd place

  • Sack Race - 3rd Place

  • VC race - 2nd place

  • Mounted Tug-O-War - runners up
