Meesden Rectory

Dear Phyllis

this is a picture of Daddy's church, in side is a nice alter. We have had some very hot days here, but we like it very much.

Meesden (7 miles N.E.) is a pretty parish bounded on the east and north by Essex and only about 2 miles from the Cambridgeshire border. The cottages stretch along a green towards the hamlet of Lower Green. The ancient church, built of flints, has a Jacobean porch. The floor tiles in the chancel form a very rare feature in this county: they are some 600 years old.
