Hatfield House, six miles from St. Albans, is
the country seat of Lord Salisbury. The house is open to the public on
the afternoons of Bank Holidays, and on Wednesday and Thursdays from 2
to 5 p.m. between Easter Monday and the end of August, when the family
are away. Application should be made to the housekeeper. The treasures
contained in this splendid Tudor mansion are too numerous to detail
here.. [St
Albans, by H. E. Brown]
