The Tring Local History Museum is situated in the old market office of Tring Market, Brook Street.

Open Fridays and Saturdays from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

While the museum is small it contains some interesting exhibits relating to the town of Tring. together with some attractively presented information boards.

 

Straw plaiting was an important local cottage industry and the display includes an example of the

Austin Straw Splitter.

The museum is run by the Tring & District Local History & Museum Society.

Tring's Mayor cuts the ribbon, and at the following celebrations the Lord of the Manor of Tring (Lord Rothschild) turns to Tim Amsden, chair of the local history society.
