4 March 1820   Charles Alexander was baptised at Upton, Norfolk, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Alexander. His parents were probably the Joseph Alexander (70, dealer in marine store) and Elizabeth living at Rices Corner, Burgh St Margarets, Norfolk, in 1851.
1841 census   In  1841 he was an unmarried brickmaker living in London Street, Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire
