via Harpenden & St Albans
The Peveril of the Peak: Daily from Manchester to London via Stockport, Buxton, Matlock, Derby, Loughborough, Leicester, Market Harborough, Kettering (2.30 a.m. from the George, George Street - William Lea), Higham Ferrers, Rushden, Bedford (6 a.m. from the Swan, High Street - Charles Higgins), Ampthill, Silsoe, Luton (7.30 a.m. from the Red Lion, Market Place - Thomas Butlin), and St Albans.
The Pilot: This left the Fountain, High Street Bedford [Thomas Norris] at 7 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and travelled to London via Ampthill (8. a.m.), Luton (9 a.m. The Cock, Park Street - William Clarke), St Albans and Barnet. It returned on Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday via Luton (4 p.m.) and Ampthill (6 p.m.)
Post Coach: From the Swan, High Street, Bedford [Charles Higgins], daily to Ampthill, Silsoe, Luton, St Albans and London. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday it started from Kettering and picked up in Bedford at 11. a.m., while on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday it started at Uppingham and picked up in Bedford at 2 p.m.
The Umpire: This left the Red Lion, High Street, Bedford [Mary Blackshaw] on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. via Ampthill, Silsoe, Luton, St Albans to London.
The Blucher: This left the Cock, Park Street, Luton for London every morning (Sundays excepted) at 6 a.m. and travelled via St Albans and Barnet.
