This is the main County Council Web Site and is mainly concerned with the current process of running Hertfordshire and has so much information and links to the point where it can be difficult to know where to look.

The most important is HALS (Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies) which is an essential stopping off point for every family or local historian with an interest in Hertfordshire. It is also possible to order Hertfordshire Birth, Marriage and Death Certificate online from them.

Details are also given of the County's public libraries - and their combined catalogue is online. This also includes books held the the local studies library at County Hall.
