Sale of Tring Grove Estate

• Lord Lake of Aston Clinton died in 1848.

• Aston Clinton estate deeded to wife and daughters.

• Tring Grove estate conditionally deeded to his mistress and 4 children.

• Death bed bequest £2000 to each daughter.

• No significant personal estate so where does £4000 come from?

• Case goes to Chancery. Court agrees sale of Tring Grove estate in 1853
