MARDLIN who had a daughter, Hanna MARDLIN on 5 Jul 1857 and died 27 Jun 1901 at Ditchmore (where is this place?). Hanna or Ann married Arthur POTTERILL on 15 May 1880 at Stevenage. This family might have lived in Hatfield or Colney Heath village.

A look at the "neighbours" on the census CD shows that Ditchmore Cottages appear to be between Bedwell Plash and Letchmore Green, to the south of Stevenage. (See Locating Census Addresses on Maps.)

Bedwell Plash and Ditchmoor Hall are both marked on the large scale OS maps fron the 1880s accessible online at old-maps and modern street maps such as Multimap show Bedwell and Ditchmore Lane.
