 Hatfield Voices (book)

December 2001

Ann Marsden of Melbourne, Australia, writes:  I am trying to locate a book called "Hatfield Voices 1950s 1960s".  Hatfield Library believes it's out of print. I am particularly interested in seeing the photograph on the cover - I think it features our family (my twin sister and brother playing in and around a big oak tree). My family name was Wise.  I emigrated to Australia about 14 years ago, but still have fond memories of my childhood in Hatfield.

For the record the full entry for this book in the British Library Catalogue is:

While it may be generally out of print it is still listed on www.amazon.co.uk (but not www.amazon.com) and there may be copies in specialist bookshops. A quick check of www.google.com for "Hatfield Voices" showed that the Society of Genealogists still have it listed in their online catalogue so I suggest you try them first.

For anyone living in the UK there are a number of copies listed in the Hertfordshire libraries catalogue and a check online shows there are two loan copies currently sitting on the shelves in the Hatfield library - and it should be possible to arrange to borrow one of them.

For older books I have listed a number of websites to search at Secondhand books.

If you can add to the information given above tell me.
