Volume the Third
The Hundreds of Hitchin, Braughing, Edwintree and Odsey
1827
This is quite literally a heavyweight history - the three volumes each being 19½ inches tall, 12 inches wide and about 2 inches thick. It covers the parishes within each hundred, with information on the manors and the church, often detailing memorial inscriptions within the church, and sometimes some from the churchyard. There are some engravings and a fair number of pedigrees of the more significant families. It is an important reference work, describing the county as is was nearly 200 years ago, and containing important genealogical information.
