Housebreaking at Heath Farm, Bernards Heath From the Herts Advertiser, 12th June 1880 |
|
HOUSEBREAKING. - On Tuesday night, at midnight, some of the inhabitants of Mr Jacob Reynolds' residence at Bernard's Heath were disturbed, and afterwards found that the house had been got into. We understand that the burglars effected an entrance by means of a front window which had been left unfastened. A quantity of plate was found to have been stolen. Outside was a hammer which had been stolen from the shop of Mr Page, blacksmith, St. Peter-street. No one has been apprehended in connection with the robbery. |
The burglar was Thomas Wheeler, who later murdered Edward Anstee.
