Ashwell Village Museum was founded in 1930 (which is a very early date for a village-based collection in Hertfordshire) and in 1980 a number of the older inhabitants were interviewed to put their recollections on record. The people interviewed were:

Gwenda Westrope

The book contains a section on the founding of the museum, and the recollections were edited by David Short and Peter Greener
