St Peters Parish, St Albans

Colney Heath became a parish in its own right in 1845

Colney Heath includes the hamlets of Tyttenhanger Green, Smallford and Sleapshyde.

COLNEY HEATH is an Ecclesiastical District, formed, in 1846, out of the scattered population of St. Peter and St. Stephen, St. Alban's (from which it is distant about four miles) and part of Ridge Parish. A new Church, dedicated to St. Mark, was erected by subscription in 1844; it is in the Elizabethan style of architecture. The living is a Rectory, with a residence, in the patronage of Trustees, and of the annual value of £300. There is a National School here. The population is 818; the number of acres, 3229.
