I originally posted a question about Robert Orchard on the Sawbridgeworth page and H L Mew (hlmew @t hotmail.co.uk) provided the following information:
Robert Orchard was a tea broker and chocolate manufacturer in Greek Street, Mincing Lane and Sawbridgeworth. His house was called Orchard House in what was then Bakers Lane next to Orchard Maltings. See this on 1884 map on old maps. (It is now called Orchard Cottage). Bakers Hill is now called Station Rd and Orchard Maltings is now flats called Riverside Court. His portrait is in the National Portrait Gallery ref NPG D5723.
