Hertfordshire

Edited by Arthur Mee

A Book in The King's England Series

[First published before the Second World War and frequently reprinted]

Aldenham Church

This book prints descriptions, in alphabetical order, of the towns and villages in Hertfordshire in a popular series which covers the country. It includes a number of photographs, although the quality is not as good as some more modern photographic collections. It has recently been reprinted and second hand copies are often available at very reasonable prices. It is therefore a good introductory text for people who want to know something about the county where their ancestors lived and who like its romantic approach.

Extracts from its descriptions are given for Albury, Chipperfield, Lilley, Much Hadham and Reed
