This print, from 1826, shows the shop in front of the Clock Tower, St Albans, which was rented by John Gibbs and his brother George Washington Gibbs in 1824.
This little book records the history of the local newspaper publishing company, Home Counties Newspapers Ltd, starting with the publication of the Aylesbury News by John Gibbs in 1836. His brother Robert Gibbs founded the St Albans Times in 1855 and this was followed by the Luton News in 1891.
