Broadwater is the name of an ancient hundred which includes the parishes of  Aston, Ayot St Lawrence, Ayot St Peter, Baldock, Bennington, Datchworth, Digswell, Graveley, Great Munden, Great Wymondley, Hatfield, Knebworth, Letchworth, Little Munden, Little Wymondley, Sacombe, Stevenage, Totteridge, Walkern, Watton-at-Stone, Welwyn, Weston and Willian.
